Anne Marie Gieske Scholarship

In 2023 an annual scholarship in the amount of $500 was established in memory of Anne Marie Gieske to recognize her spirit and her contributions to the Beechwood Band program. The scholarship further recognizes her gifts and how she embodied excellence and compassion as a friend, musician, and leader. The Anne Marie Gieske Scholarship is awarded annually to one Beechwood Bands student at the Spring Band Banquet.

Scholarship Eligibility:

The scholarship will be awarded annually to the Beechwood Band student who best:


• Embodied Anne's personal character
• Demonstrated individual achievement as a member of the Beechwood Bands
• Served as a role model for others - creating relationships to bring out the best in others

Scholarship Application and Selection:

Application:

To be considered, active Beechwood Band students must submit:

• An application form including specific examples of personal achievement during their band career


• An essay focused on either personal character and/or interpersonal skills. Suggested topic:


Describe an experience as a member of the Beechwood Band that have helped shape your personal character and how you used that experience to help others to develop and grow


• A letter of recommendation - Recommendations from outside of the Beechwood community are encouraged

 

Selection:

Applications will be reviewed and selected by Committee including representative(s) designated by the Gieske family, Director of Bands and the Beechwood Band Booster Board.

Anne Marie Gieske Clarinet Player

Anne was a talented musician, a caring leader, and a loving friend as a member of the Beechwood Band. She was the clarinet Section Leader, a 6-year member of the Marching Tigers, our 2020 Drum Major, a 4-time All-State Band member, and attended the Governor’s School for the Arts
