The 2020-21 school year will mark Jacob Slone's fourth year as Associate Director of Bands at Beechwood Independent Schools in Fort Mitchell, KY.  Mr. Slone’s duties include directing the 5th Grade Beginning Band, 6th Grade Band, 7th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, and the Jazz Lab Band. In addition, he also assists with the High School Symphonic Band and Beechwood Marching Band.


Prior to his appointment at Beechwood High School, Mr. Slone student taught at Henry Clay High School in Lexington, KY, served as Student Assistant Band Director for the New Horizons Concert Band, taught as a Visual and Music Instructor at West Jessamine High School in Nicholasville, KY from 2014-2016, and taught Private Saxophone Lessons in the Central Kentucky Area.


Jacob Slone graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2017 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree. While studying saxophone under Miles and Lisa Osland he performed with the University of Kentucky Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Lab Band, Rep Band, Mega-Sax Quartets, Saxophone Quartets, and Wildcat Marching Band.


Mr. Slone is a member of the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA), the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He was recently awarded the Phi Mu Alpha Collegiate Honor Award and also served as the Collegiate NAfME Chapter President at the University of Kentucky. Mr. Slone is a native of Lexington, KY and currently resides in Crestview Hills, KY.
